Markas, leading company for catering services, will gradually reduce starting from 2019 the purchase of caged hens’ eggs and definitely move to 100% cage-free eggs by 2024. In September 2017 the company has established a development programme designed to ensure the hygiene-health safety of products of animal origin and the avoidance of animal suffering. “With this programme we aim at further promoting the philosophy of ethical thinking” says Andrea Tezzele, Quality and Control Directior at Markas. “We consider cage-rearing a negative practice that does not represent our principles of environmental and social responsability”.
