With the Regulation 1169/2011, the European Union has regulated the procedures to indicate the presence of allergens in the menus, in order to protect people with food allergies or intolerances. The regulation contains, inter alia, improved allergen labeling of prepacked foods and mandatory allergen information for bulk food.

Barbara Valentini, the responsible person for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition in Markas, speaks in an interview about the benefits of this European regulation and the measures already taken by Markas to protect its end-users health regarding food allergies and food intolerances and therefore provide users with the assurance of a menu prepared in compliance with the specific food requirements.
